On Friday, August 23, 2024
, at approximately 0032 hours, I responded to 960 Joe Frank Harris Pkwy (Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center) Cartersville, Bartow County, Georgia in reference to an intoxicated person.
Upon arrival, I met with [WITNESS ], who is a security officer at Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center. [WITNESS ] advised there was a visitor at the hospital, who appeared intoxicated, and was going to leave. [WITNESS ] then took me to the male, and I met with Jonathan Pruitt (intoxicated person). While speaking with Jonathan, I observed his movements appeared slow and lethargic. Jonathan also informed me that he had taken medication, and while on the medication he is not supposed to operate heavy machinery.
I attempted to help find a different way for Jonathan to get to his residence. Jonathan did not have means to pay for a taxi. Jonathan was advised to call someone to come and get him, but Jonathan wouldn’t cooperate, and put his phone in his pocket.
Due to Jonathan not cooperating to find himself a way , and him being in violation of the disorderly conduct county ordinance, he was placed under arrest. Chapter 50, article 3 (disorderly conduct) section 8 states is in a public place under the influence of an intoxicating liquor or drug in such condition as to be unable to exercise care for his own safety or the safety of others.
Jonathan was transported to the Bartow County Jail where custody was exchanged with Bartow County Jail staff. Jonathan was issued a citation through the Bartow County Magistrate Court for disorderly conduct.
