Prior to my arrival, Bartow County 911 informed officers that the suspect, identified as Jerry, was leaving in a white four-door passenger car. Officers Garner and Brown were able to locate the vehicle with Georgia plate [REDACTED], leaving the location, and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, identifying the driver as Jerry Flemister.Upon arrival at the scene, I spoke with the victim, [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] described the suspect as a black male wearing a white shirt and Jordan shoes, matching the description of Mr. Flemister, with whom officers Garner and Brown were with. According to [VICTIM #1], the altercation began upstairs when they began to argue with each other and she asked Mr. Flemister what is his problem. Mr. Flemister allegedly responded with a threat to slap [VICTIM #1] and Mr. Flemister stated that he should just leave. [VICTIM #1] agreed with Mr. Flemister and began exiting the bedroom when Mr. Flemister reportedly pulled her by the hair, insisting she listen to him. [VICTIM #1] was able to get away from Mr. Flemister and threw his clothing downstairs. [VICTIM #1] told Mr. Flemister to take his stuff and leave.Mr. Flemister went outside and as [VICTIM #1] tried to close the door to prevent his re-entry, Mr. Flemister allegedly ran back inside, pushing Ms. [WITNESS #1] aside to reach her. [VICTIM #1] reported being strangled by Mr. Flemister, causing her to intermittently lose consciousness as he applied pressure to her neck with both hands. According to [VICTIM #1], Mr. Flemister hit her head and threw her, resultingin a bleeding nose. Ms. [WITNESS #1] witnessed part of the incident and recounted that Mr. Flemister grabbed [VICTIM #1], turning her face and pressing it into the couch. On the scene, I observed a scratch on [VICTIM #1]’s right side of the nose with blood, a cut on her lip, and bruising on her neck. Bruises on her arm were reportedly from a previous altercation with Mr. Flemister. [VICTIM #1] was able to confirm the identity of Mr. Flemister by a photo sent from officers out with Mr. Flemister on the traffic stop.[VICTIM #1] expressed the desire to press charges against Mr. Flemister. I proceeded to the location of the traffic stop conducted by Officers Brown and Garner. Mr. Flemister stated that the bruises on Ms. [VICTIM #1] happened from a previous altercation. Mr. Flemister admitted to officers that he had held Ms. [VICTIM #1] down on the couch. Mr. Flemister also stated to officers that there was a physical altercation between him and [VICTIM #1]. Mr. Flemister was taken into custody, handcuffed with double-locked restraints checked for proper fit behind his back, and placed in the back of my patrol car, which was inspected for contraband before and after transport. Upon ing Mr. Flemister incident to arrest, no contraband was discovered. His vehicle was handed over to its registered owner, Ms. [REDACTED]. Subsequently, Mr. Flemister was transported to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office, and warrants were taken.
