On Friday, September 13, 2024
, at 1226 hours, I was dispatched to [200 BLOCK] San Marino Way NW Cartersville, GA 30120, regarding a missing person report. Later, upon investigation, it was determined to be a domestic disturbance incident.
On arrival, I spoke with Heath Wilson, who wanted to report his father, [VICTIM ], Missing. Heath indicated that his father has not been sleeping well recently and moves furniture throughout the night. This morning, [VICTIM ] informed Heath he was going for a walk, which usually lasts about twenty minutes. Over an hour had passed, and Heath began to look for him, but he was unsuccessful, so he called 911 for assistance.
[VICTIM ] was at a friend’s house and indicated he left the property because Heath was physically present with him that day. He knocked on Heath’s door and was pushed against the wall by Heath, causing damage to the drywall. He also clarified that Heath got upset with him last night and slapped him in the face for no apparent reason. Heath took out [VICTIM ]’s bed and made him sleep on the floor.
No marks were seen on [VICTIM ], and upon further investigation, it was observed that the wall was damaged and attempted to be covered with an item. [VICTIM ]’s bed was missing from his bedroom as Heath had taken it out, and he only had a pillow and sheet on the floor where he had slept last night.
I also spoke to [WITNESS ], Heath’s mother and [VICTIM ]’s ex-wife. She indicated she was there this morning and heard both males arguing. She mentioned she did not see anything physical; however, she did hear [VICTIM ] tell Heath why he hit him.
After speaking to [VICTIM ] and Heath, I proceeded to place Heath under arrest for Simple battery (Family violence), Criminal trespass- property damage, and Exploitation and intimidation of a disabled/elderly adult.
Photos of the damage were taken, and a referral was made to the aging services division.
Heath was ed incident to arrest with no problem and transported to Bartow County Jail staff, where he was released to them.
