On Monday August 26th, 2024
at 0149 hours I was dispatched to [90 BLOCK] Martin Luther King Jr Cir, Kingston, GA 30145 in reference to a burglary in progress.
Upon arrival I spoke with [VICTIM ]. [VICTIM ] stated her nephew, Demaurio Barton broke into her house using the side door. [VICTIM ] stated Demaurio uses drugs and she wanted him to leave. [VICTIM ] stated this wasn’t the first time Demaurio has broke into her . [VICTIM ] stated “y’all take him somewhere, get him out of here”.
[VICTIM ] took me into the house where Demaurio was at. I made with Demaurio in [VICTIM ]’ guest bedroom. I detained Demaurio at that time in handcuffs to the rear. I conducted a incident to arrest of Demaurio’s person where I found a small bag of a white crystal substance suspected to be methamphetamine in Demaurio’s front right coin pocket. Demaurio he was placed under arrest, and placed in the rear of my patrol vehicle.
I went to the side door where Demaurio broke into [VICTIM ] house and observed damage to her door frame. I took pictures of the damages using my body camera. I asked [VICTIM ] if she wanted to press charges for Demaurio breaking into her house. [VICTIM ] stated she didn’t want to press charges for burglary, she just wanted Demaurio out of her house.
