at 0858 I was dispatched to [30 BLOCK] Glenabby Dr in reference to a dispute.
Upon arrival I spoke with Charles Perales who stated that a neighbor pointed a gun at him. Charles says as he was driving through the neighborhood, a male subject gave him the middle finger. Charles says that he has an issue with people doing that to him and has to know what their problem is. Charles says he turned his truck around and went back to confront the male, [VICTIM ]. Charles says he started cursing at [VICTIM ] and asked him to go settle their issue somewhere else. Charles says after arguing back and forth for a minute, [VICTIM ] lifted his shirt, exposing a pistol in his waistband. Charles advised [VICTIM ] that he also had a pistol in his truck. Charles says shortly after, another male, [REDACTED] runs out of the residence with a pistol in hand and points it at him.
I spoke with [REDACTED] who stated that he was woken up, being told that his friend [VICTIM ] was outside with an irate male threatening him and talking about having a gun. [REDACTED] says that being given this information, he grabs his pistol and runs outside to protect his friend. [REDACTED] says when he got outside he saw Charles standing by his truck, so he pointed his gun at him due to not knowing where Charles’ gun was at. [REDACTED] says when he could see that Charles was no longer a threat and that Law Enforcement was on the way, he put his pistol away.
[VICTIM ] had left prior to our arrival, but was made with him by phone.
[VICTIM ] stated that Charles went driving by at a fast rate in the neighborhood, which is why he gave him the middle finger. [VICTIM ] says that Charles turned around and sped back down to his location. [VICTIM ] says Charles was very aggressive when he got out of the truck and kept trying to fight him. [VICTIM ] advised Charles that he was trying to get his child to the doctor and that Charles just needed to leave. [VICTIM ] says he finally just flashed his pistol at Charles, hoping that he would just leave, but Charles continued to just stay and yell at him. [VICTIM ] says his friend [REDACTED] came running out of the house with his gun, trying to get Charles to leave.
Both parties provided video evidence of the situation, dash camera footage from Charles and security footage from [REDACTED].
In both videos Charles can be seen driving past and returning to the residence, also Charles can be heard squealing tires in his truck to get turned around to confront [VICTIM ]. Charles is also seen aggressively approaching [VICTIM ] in the street directly in front of them . [VICTIM ] can barely be heard on the video, but Charles yelling can be heard almost perfectly. Charles can be heard enticing [VICTIM ] to fight and cursing at him. Charles is also seen walking back and forth from his truck to [VICTIM ]’s truck. Towards the end of the video, [REDACTED] can be seen coming out of the residence and pointing his pistol at Charles. Charles then stops the video on his dash camera.
All video shown was saved and dropped into evidence. Due to Charles own statement and video evidence of Charles behavior, Charles was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct. Charles was transported to the Bartow County Jail.
