On Saturday, August 31, 2024
at approximately 2012 hours, I responded to [100 BLOCK] Malbone Street in reference to an agency assist with Bartow County Fire and Emergency Services. Bartow Dispatch advised of a female on scene interfering with emergency personnel attempting to treat a patient at the above residence.
Just minutes prior, I was at the scene for a male patient who had fell. Bartow Fire advised the scene was fine at that point and I had left.
I initially met with Firefighter [VICTIM ] for a statement. FF [VICTIM ] stated as he and EMS were tending to the male patient, an intoxicated female approached an began interfering with their patient treatment. The female got close to FF [VICTIM ] and ended up poking him under his eye during their encounter. The female was making demands and acting irrational to medical personnel on scene. FF [VICTIM ] did not wish to pursue charges on the simple battery act, but wished for law enforcement to speak to her and ask that she not interfere with medical personnel. FF [REDACTED] was also on scene and observed the females actions.
I met with the female who was obviously intoxicated and slurred her words. The female provided her first name (Brennan) but initially refused to provide further. Brennan denied any altercation with a Firefighter. Brennan kept her 7 year old daughter with her and was asked multiple times for her daughter to go with the neighbor. Brennan told me that I need to “take authority” over my investigation. After multiple request, I convinced Brennan to speak to me separate from her daughter and neighbors.
In front of Brennan’s ([100 BLOCK] Malbone) I was able to speak further and keep her separate from Bartow Fire Personnel. Brennan was asked further about what happened, she replied “I’m the wrong person that is your suspect that you are interrogating”. Brennan stated that my investigation was “fuking shenanigans”. At that point, I asked Brennan to have a seat on her porch. Brennan began walking back towards [100 BLOCK] Malbone Street. As I grabbed ahold of her arm to keep her from walking away, she pulled harder. I then placed Brennan in custody by handcuffing her, I attempted to double lock the handcuffs but she continued to resist and pull away. I spun Brennan away from the concrete area and led her to the ground in the grassy area of the yard. Brennan continued to try and spin around on me while attempting to double lock the handcuffs. After briefly resisting, Brennan was properly retrained in handcuffs. Brennan was placed in the rear of my patrol vehicle. In the back of my patrol vehicle, Brennan began yelling and cursing multiple times. Yelling the word “fuk” often in the presence of her own child. I obtained the neighbors information, Ms. [REDACTED]. Brennan asked that her juvenile child stay with Ms. [REDACTED] as she went into custody.
Brennan was transported to Bartow Jail. Within the jail, Brennan became argumentative with staff and was immediately taken to a holding cell.
Charges were taken for (m) obstructing/hindering medical personnel, (m) obstruction law enforcement and disorderly conduct.
