On Saturday August 10, 2024
at approximately 2051 hours I was dispatched to [7200 BLOCK] Ackerman Rd Acworth, GA in reference to an unknown domestic disturbance. The dispatched information was that there was a physical altercation between a male and female and that the male was supposed to have a gun. Upon arrival deputies found a male and female involved in an altercation seated in a vehicle in the roadway and separated the two. The male was identified as Andrew Bryson and the female as [VICTIM ]. It was discovered while on scene that there was an active “No Order” against Andrew Bryson to stay away from [VICTIM ].
I interviewed [VICTIM ] and she stated she had been with her friend [WITNESS ] most of the day and decided to swing by her residence for some extension cords and to get some clothes from the laundry. [VICTIM ] stated she does not own a washer and dryer and washes her clothes at her neighbors house at [7200 BLOCK] Ackerman Rd. [VICTIM ] was at her neighbors at [7200 BLOCK] and was just about to open the door to go inside. She was alerted by her neighbor that Andrew was inside the residence. [VICTIM ] did not open the door and turned around and began walking to another neighbors house across the street at [7300 BLOCK]. Suddenly the door flung open and she heard Andrew yelling for her. [VICTIM ] began running and screaming from Andrew as he gave chase. [VICTIM ] has reason to be afraid of Andrew as they were involved in another dispute in March of 2024
where Andrew was charged with Aggravated Assault with a knife. [VICTIM ] ran across the street and into the yard at [7300 BLOCK]. She eventually made it into the residence while Andrew stood at the street/front yard area.
[VICTIM ] then snuck out the back door of the and ran to [WITNESS ]’s vehicle which was still parked in the road. She jumped in the vehicle and yelled for [WITNESS ] to drive off but Andrew made it to the vehicle at about the same time and began trying to pull [VICTIM ] out of the vehicle. Andrew at one point grabbed [VICTIM ] by her ankle and tried pulling her out causing a small scratch on her ankle. Andrew then attempted to get into the vehicle as [VICTIM ] tried keeping him out. Eventually Andrew was able to get inside the vehicle sitting next to [VICTIM ]. Andrew made the statement he was “going to shoot her if she didn’t stay or let him leave with her”. He also made the statement “whatever you do to me (Andrew), my family is going to do 10x worse to you ([VICTIM ])”. Andrew was referring to the fact that if he goes to jail his family his going to have retribution on [VICTIM ]. [VICTIM ] stated she was threatened to be shot but never saw the gun. She stated when Andrew carries a gun he carries “his black Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol”.
Deputy Lehmann asked [WITNESS ] for permission to his vehicle in attempts to locate a the gun Andrew was supposedly carrying. Deputy Lehman notified me that he located a “black Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol” just as [VICTIM ] described, hidden underneath a pillow in the back seat of [WITNESS ]s vehicle located where Andrew was seated when deputies arrived on scene. I photographed the pistol and collected it at evidence. Deputy Lehmann asked [WITNESS ] if the gun belonged to him and he stated no.
I spoke with [WITNESS ] regarding the altercation and he stated he was at [7200 BLOCK] putting air in his tire when he saw Andrew “come storming out the door like a mad man” and then heard [VICTIM ] screaming from the street as Andrew ran towards her. [VICTIM ] ran towards the house at [7300 BLOCK] as Andrew stood near the street. [WITNESS ] stated [VICTIM ] eventually came out to the vehicle and got inside. Andrew was asking about his cell phones claiming someone took them. Andrew then started attempting to open the door and [VICTIM ] kept pulling the door closed. Andrew then got the door open and started grabbing at [VICTIM ] trying to pull her out of the vehicle. Andrew then started grabbing items from inside the vehicle and throwing them out onto the pavement. He stated Andrew was acting very aggressive as he was pulling and yanking at items in the vehicle and cursing at [VICTIM ]. [WITNESS ] stated at one point he heard [VICTIM ] say “Just go ahead and shoot me”. [WITNESS ] stated he never saw a gun because it was too dark and he could not see into the back very well.
I attempted to interview Mr. [REDACTED] who lives at [7300 BLOCK] but he had already let his residence. I was able to get a phone number for [REDACTED] but he did not answer upon calling and I was unable to get a statement.
After arriving at the Bartow County Jail I mirandized Andrew and he stated he was willing to provide a statement about the incident. Andrew stated that he works for a man named [REDACTED BY AGENCY] that works out of the address [7200 BLOCK] Ackerman Rd. Andrew claims they had been working all day and returned to the shop. Andrew went behind the shop and fell asleep in the hammock. He stated when he woke up his cell phone was gone. He began looking for his phone and could not find it. Andrew then found out that [VICTIM ] was in the area and believed that she somehow snuck up while he was napping and stole it from him. He claims he came out of the shop and saw [VICTIM ] and started walking toward her to ask her about the phone. [VICTIM ] then took off across the street and he went after her. Once in the yard [VICTIM ] drops to her knees and starts screaming. [VICTIM ] then goes inside the house.
Andrew stated that he went and started going through items in [WITNESS ]s vehicle looking for his phone. Andrew claims he was already in [WITNESS ]’s vehicle before [VICTIM ] ever came back outside. He claims he never attempted to pull [VICTIM ] out of the vehicle and was just looking through the items. Andrew also refuted the claims [VICTIM ] made regarding killing her if she didn’t stay or allow him to go with her. Andrew was under the assumption he was going to leave with [WITNESS ] and [VICTIM ]. Andrew stated moments later deputies arrived on scene.
Based on testimonial and physical evidence I charged Andrew with Aggravated Stalking, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony and Simple Battery. Andrew was handed over to Bartow jail staff without incident.
