Bethlehem, Ga. 30620) in reference to a Domestic Dispute. Upon m arrival I made with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in the lobby of the Holiday Inn Express. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] began explaining to me the details of what occurred prior to my arrival.[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she and her friend, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], visited Gwinnett County last night and did not return until the morning of this date (12-24-2024). [REDACTED BY AGENCY] immediately began speaking about what had occurred this morning. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated after Vonterrius stole her iPhone 15 and car key, she followed behind him, entered her vehicle and drove up behind where Vonterrius had parked to block him in until law enforcement arrived. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated It happened so fast”, but Vonterrius exited his vehicle and proceeded to throw a cinder block at her driver-side car door window while she occupied the vehicle. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she was uninjured as a result of Vonterrius throwing the blunt object at her vehicle. Vonterrius is [REDACTED BY AGENCY] ex-boyfriend, who have formerly lived together approximately 2 years ago.I then approached [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and began to interview her in regard to what occurred. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised when she exited the bathroom of inside the hotel room, she was assaulted by Vonterrius Jackson, after he “stormed” his way into room [REDACTED] that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and her grandmother, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], were residing in temporarily until plumbing issues got resolved in her in another county. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was not present at the time of the assault. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] continued, stating she witnessed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] get pushed into room [REDACTED] by Vonterrius as he continued to fight her by kicking and punching her while inside. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] affirmed she attempted to assist [REDACTED BY AGENCY] from continually being physically assaulted, and that is when Vonterrius pushed her, that resulted in her sustaining an abrasion to her left elbow.I turned my attention back to [REDACTED BY AGENCY], who was now escorting me to the hotel room the theft and assault occurred. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] described after she returned from Gwinnett County, she immediately had gotten a plate of food at the complimentary breakfast bar at the hotel. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated after she returned to her room with the food, she wanted an extra biscuit, so she exited the room to return to the breakfast area. Once she walked out of the room, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that Vonterrius was at the doorway and “bum rushed” her, pushing her into the room. While inside, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] apprised me that at some point in time during her being battered, Vonterrius stole her iPhone 15 and cars keys from her person. I observed remnants of food on the hallway floor, outside of room [REDACTED].In company with [REDACTED BY AGENCY], we made our way to the Holiday Inn parking lot where I observed a landscaping concrete block and shards of glass on the concrete outside of her silver (in-color) Toyota Corolla (Tag #[REDACTED]). Once I closed the distance and approached the driver-side door, I observed the driver-side door window displaced, and numerous shards of glass within the vehicle.After apprising [REDACTED BY AGENCY] of my intentions to take multiple warrants for Vonterrius Jackson’s arrest, for the crimes I suspected for him to have committed, she began showing signs of uncooperativeness by refusing to complete a witness statement.[REDACTED BY AGENCY] voluntarily completed a witness statement that has been attached to the case report.Investigator Manthe W161 was informed of the incident and the details surrounding the case. On December 30, 2024, Detective Manthe, with the Winder Police Department’s Investigative Division informed officers that Mr. Vonterrius Jackson was showing active felony warrants out of the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office. Sergeant Wolfe (W160) then informed officers on December 31, 2024, that he could potentially be driving around in a 2014 Silver Chevrolet Malibu (Ga Tag #[REDACTED]).Throughout the day on January 4, 2025, I continued watching the vehicle’s movement through the Winder Police Department’s FLOCK cameras. At approximately 1617 hours, I observed the vehicle to be traveling Southbound on Highway 53 coming into the City Limits of Winder. I then began traveling northbound on North Broad Street in an attempt to locate the vehicle. I passed the vehicle going southbound while I was continuing Northbound.I conducted a U-Turn on the vehicle and began following it southbound on North Broad Street without my emergency lights and sirens activated due to not knowing if Mr. Jackson was inside the vehicle. The vehicle immediately turned into 268 North Broad Street (Bojangles) and parked behind the business. I informed additional officers about what I had located and began circling the parking lot of Bojangles. I then observed a female driver and Mr. Jackson being the front seat passenger attempting to hide his face.I informed dispatch of my location and that I was on a Warrant Service at this location and when I circled back around the parking lot to get near the vehicle, the vehicle left the parking spot and began exiting the parking lot onto Lake Drive. I activated my emergency lights and sirens and caught up to the vehicle in the parking lot before it entered the roadway. I then informed dispatch that I had the vehicle at gunpoint and requested for them to clear the channel along with informing dispatch that Mr. Jackson was in the passenger seat.I then instructed Mr. Jackson to show me both of his hands and after this command, he began reaching inside the glove compartment of the vehicle. Once Deputy Cruz (S175) with the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene to assist, I commanded Mr. Jackson out of the vehicle and to face away from my person. I then instructed him to walk back to the sound of my voice until told to stop. Once Mr. Jackson was close enough to our patrol vehicles, Deputy Cruz placed handcuffs around his wrists, double locked them, and checked them for proper fit while I continued holding the vehicle at gunpoint. Mr. Jackson was then placed into the backseat of Deputy Cruz’s patrol vehicle.I then commanded the driver, later identified as Ms. [REDACTED], to exit the vehicle and face away from my person. She was then commanded to walk back to the sound of my voice until I placed handcuffs around her wrists, double locked them, and checked them for proper fit. No contraband or weapons were located inside the vehicle.Dispatch confirmed the warrant for Mr. Jackson, and I informed him he was under arrest. He was removed from Deputy Cruz’s patrol vehicle and escorted to the front of mine where I conducted a of his person incident to arrest to check for weapons, contraband, or means of escape and located negative results. Mr. Jackson had a large sum of cash money in his front jacket pocket in which he requested his mother, Ms. [REDACTED], take custody of. Mr. Jackson just requested he keep $500 in $20 bills to take with him to the detention center. [REDACTED] counted this money in front of my person in which she handed to me, and I counted the $500 aloud. This money was placed into an evidence bag and later turned over to the jail deputies at the detention center.I then swapped handcuffs with Deputy Cruz and placed my handcuffs around Mr. Jackson’s wrists, double locked them, and checked them for proper fit. He was placed into the backseat of my patrol vehicle and buckled in for his safety.I then transported Mr. Jackson to the Barrow County Detention Center where he was turned over to the jail deputies without further incident.
