Discretion is advised.][NARRATIVE #1 on May 29, 2026]On May 29, 2026 around 1800 hours, I, Deputy Echols was dispatched to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Lakeview Drive in reference to a domestic dispute.Dorene Murray called and said that her [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was trying to burn the house down. She then went on to say that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] left the scene. Shortly after, she also said that she left to go to dinner and would be back later. I went back in service and informed her to call back when she returned home.Around 2030 hours, Dorene called back saying she was headed home and wanted a Deputy to come to her home at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] LakeView Drive. I arrived on scene several minutes before she did. I observed her pull in the driveway in a red Hyundia Sonata (GA tag [REDACTED BY AGENCY]). I observed her pull in the garage and exit the vehicle. I was under the impression that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was not on scene based on her previous statements and when I arrived there were no vehicles in the driveway.Dorene went inside and I asked why she had went to dinner with friends instead of waiting on law enforcement that she had called. She had no good explaination for why she left the scene and went to dinner. I could smell a strong odor commonly associated with alcoholic beverages coming off her breath and person.Dorene had decided to call law enforcement, leave the scene and go drinking with friends. She returned home after driving under the influence (See other supplemental for DUI).She said that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was trying to kill her and burn the house down. She could not provide any evidence to support either claim that she was making. She said that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] killed a cat and there was also no evidence to support this. She showed me two broken clay pots in the drive way that she said [REDACTED BY AGENCY] threw.I spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that she was going on about something and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] did get upset. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had a headache and did throw the two pots in the driveway. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] explained they have been married a long time and share everything together. Dorene wanted [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to leave but I informed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] that we had no authority to remove from [REDACTED BY AGENCY] own home.No physical altercation accured, no crimes committed and no proof of threats. I saw her park and exit her vehicle as the driver. Upon contact with her to speak about the possible domestic dispute, I could smell the strong odor commonly associated with alcoholic beverages coming from her breath and person.After addressing the domestic dispute, I informed her that I needed to speak with her in regards to her driving under the influence. I could see he eyes were very glassy and bloodshot. I observed her swaying when she would stand still. She was avoiding answering my questions regarding it.I asked how much she had to drink and she said she had 2 margaritas. She left the scene of the domestic and went to a mexican restraunt in Habersham County (prior to current contact). I asked if I could do Standardized Field Sobriety (SFST). She told me she did not think it was necessary. She did agreed to Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) but did not want to do the walk and turn or one leg stand.I asked if she took any drugs or medications and she said that she took a Xanax around 1800 after the dispute. She said she was prescribed it and takes it as needed. She could not tell me the dosage.HGN clues: I explained the instructions to Murray and she said she understood. I checked for resting nystagmus and did not observe any. I checked for equal tracking and equal pupil size, I observed both.I observed 6 of 6 clues during HGN. I checked for Vertical Nystagmus but did not observe any. Murray said again she did not think walk and turn and one leg stand was necessary. I informed her I believed she was not safe to drive. I placed her under arrest. I placed her in double locked handcuffs behind her back and checked for fit. I read her the Ga Implied Consent notice and asked for a blood draw. She consented at first saying she had nothing to hide. When I transported her to Habersham Medical Center, she withdrew consent for the blood draw.I transported Murray to the Banks County Jail for DUI alcohol (Cit #38293). The backseat of my patrol vehicle was checked before and after transport, no contraband was located.[End of Narrative].
