Capes approached a residence located at [90 BLOCK] Mill Trace, Dallas GA 30157, where Dep. Hambrick was speaking with a Draven Cockerill and a female, Pamela Cockerill.We were notified that an accident had occured at [100 BLOCK] Mill Street. The homeowner, [VICTIM #1] advised a vehicle left the roadway and crashed into his yard. The vehicle hit a tree in his front yard and left the scene. He stated the tree was a Japanese Maple Tree valued at $3,000.Deputies spoke with Witness, [WITNESS #1] who stated the following: He observed a vehicle stopped at the stop sign in front of his residence. He observed a male asleep at the wheel. A passerby stopped and checked on the male waking him up. The male then started driving again leaving the roadway driving through the yard of [100 BLOCK] Powder Mill St. The male hit a tree in the yard and his vehicle was smoking. The male then left scene making a right on Mill Trace.Dep. Hambrick stated he followed a leak pattern from the incident location to Mr. Cockerills residence. The vehicle Mr. Cockerill was driving was found by Dep. Hambrick in the backyard, covered in a blue tarp.While on scene the driver, Draven Cockerill, stated he fell asleep while driving resulting in him driving into someone’s yard, hitting and knocking down a tree. Mr. Cockerill stated when he woke up, he drove the car home because he was scared.Draven Cockerill was placed under arrest for driving on a suspended license and a hit and run. Dep. Capes placed Draven Cockerill into hand cuffs that were double locked and checked for proper fitting.Pamela Cockerill was ran by GCIC and was found to have a active warrant for a Failure to appear. Pamela was placed into handcuffs by Deputy Capes, handcuffs were checked for tightness and double locked. Myself and Dep. Capes transported both her and Draven Cockerill to the Paulding County Detention Center with no further incident.During Pamela Cockerills intake pat down Detention Officer Hill found a small baggie of a crystal-like substance in her front, right pocket. The crystal like substance was suspected to be residue from Methanphetamine. No charges were taken and the baggie was placed into evidence to be destroyed.Citations were issued to Draven Cockerill for Driving on Suspended License and Hit and run. Court copies of the citations were handed to Bookin Civilian LaTurno.[End of Narrative].
