[VICTIM #1] stated that she and her son (Alexander Taylor) were involved in a verbal altercation. [VICTIM #1] stated that the altercation was a result of Alexander trying to cope with his brother passing. [VICTIM #1] stated she tried to calm Alexander down, but he would not. [VICTIM #1] stated that Alexander left on foot, north on Highway 19 South. [VICTIM #1] also stated at the time he left on foot, he was intoxicated and was possibly in possession of a handgun.I made with [WITNESS #1], who advised me that Alexander was possibly watching us. [WITNESS #1] stated this because Alexander was texting him, stating that he could see us. [WITNESS #1] later stated that Alexander texted him stating that he walked into Saxton Place Subdivision ([1400 BLOCK] Highway 19 South). Alexander traveled north, through Creekwood Apartments ([1500 BLOCK] Highway 19 South) and Saxton Place Subdivision.Deputies were ing the immediate area when Alexander was spotted running eastbound into the wood line of the 1400 blk of Highway South, from the BP Gas Station. Upon making with Alexander, Alexander was uncooperative, irate, and belligerent. I attempted to de-escalate Alexander, but Alexander ignored me and continued further into the woods.I attempted to go into the wood line in order to remove Alexander from the line. At that time, I was met at one of the entries by Alexander, at which point he put his hands behind his back. I gave Alexander loud and verbal commands to remove his hands, and come out of the wood line. Alexander removed his hands from behind his back, but continued further into the woods. I followed Alexander into the woods. Alexander told me that if I attempt to detain him I “better be ready” and that “it’s on”. I grabbed Alexander’s wrists, at which point he snatched away his left wrist. Due to the fact I was advised by [VICTIM #1] that Alexander was possibly armed, along with Alexander earlier hiding his hands behind his back (away from my sight), I administered compliance strikes to Alexander. Alexander was detained and placed in handcuffs (DL/TC).Alexander was charged with Disorderly Conduct While Intoxicated (Magistrate Form #: MC01503). Alexander was ed incident-to-arrest for weapons and contraband, with negative results. Alexander was transported to the Lee County Jail, where he was turned over to jail staff.
