On September 18, 2024
at approximately 2239 hours, I responded to America’s Best Inn motel on 390 Canebrake Rd in reference to an indecent exposure in progress. The call notes stated a female subject was running around the parking lot naked with a towel assaulting people. Upon arrival, I made with the female subject at the entrance to Econo Lodge on S Gateway Blvd.
I observed the female subject, later identified as Ms. Ashanti Singletary, to be nude with both breasts exposed and a towel wrapped around her mid-section. She stated that the America’s Best Inn manager/complainant, Mr. [VICTIM ], was telling to her “go”. I asked her to walk back to America’s Best Inn so that I could make with Mr. [VICTIM ]. She did so without issue.
Mr. [VICTIM ] stated that at approximately 2215 hours, he was informed by an unknown passerby that there was a female subject running around in the parking lot, naked, with a towel. Mr. [VICTIM ] advised that he made with Ms. Singletary just outside the front lobby under the overhang and he observed Ms. Singletary’s breasts were exposed. He went on to say that Ms. Singletary was previously staying in a motel room with a male subject and that the male subject who rented the room checked out and left the property prior to PD arrival. Mr. [VICTIM ] said that he asked Ms. Singletary to leave the property because she did not have a room and because she was walking around the parking lot naked. He advised that initially Ms. Singletary refused to leave and while he was asking her to leave she grabbed his glasses off of his face and threw them onto the ground. After a short time, Ms. Singletary left the property and walked to the Econo Lodge on S gateway Blvd.
Mr. [VICTIM ] added that Ms. Singletary did not touch his face when she grabbed his glasses and that his glasses were not damaged. He advised that he only wanted Ms. Singletary off the property for her lewd exposure and her not having a room rented.
I arrested Ms. Singletary for Public Indecency (OCGA 16-6-8) for exposing her breasts in public. Officer Coleman placed her into handcuffs, double locked, checked for fit, and ed her incident to arrest. Officer Coleman placed her into the rear of my patrol vehicle (seatbelt applied). I transported Ms. Singletary to the Chatham County Detention Center to be booked for her charge.
The rear seat of my patrol vehicle was checked prior to and after transport.
