at approximately 0940 hours I, D/S Ranalli was dispatched to Bridgecreek road at Hopkins lane in reference to a one car collision with unknown injuries. Dispatch advised the vehicle hit a power pole and there was lines down in the road. While in route dispatch advised the driver of the vehicle was no longer on scene.
Upon arrival I observed a white in color Mercedes suv with front in damage and a snapped power pole with lines on the ground. I went over to the vehicle, no one was inside or around the vehicle. I then ran the tag through dispatch and advised them to run the registered owner for a phone number. Dispatch advised the registered owner later identified as, [WITNESS ] and her son own the vehicle. [WITNESS ] advised dispatch her son allowed someone by the name of Kyle Deal to drive the vehicle. Dispatch provided me a phone number for Kyle and [WITNESS ]. I called Kyle and got no answer. The vehicle was turned over to Dean’s wrecker service.
I spoke to [REDACTED] with HEMC, he advised the damage was estimated $13,000.
I called Kyle back at approximately 1500 hours, he stated he was not the driver and he returned the vehicle back last night. I advised Kyle that [WITNESS ], the one that let him use the vehicle had called and advised that he was recieving text from Kyle stating he was sorry. Kyle eventually admitted to wrecking the vehicle and leaving the scene with a subject named [REDACTED]. Kyle stated he lost control of the vehicle in the curve, hit the bank and then hit the power pole. See linked files for the recording.
I secured warrants for Kyle Deal for-
Hit and Run: duty of the driver to stop and failure to report striking a fixed object.
Wreck report number is 2024
