around 0010 hours, while working uniformed patrol in a marked unit I, Officer Kite, responded to [3600 BLOCK] Bull Street apartment [REDACTED] in reference to a fight in progress.
Upon arrival, I noticed a male that I later identified as Mr. [VICTIM ] bleeding from the face and saying he got cut with a machete. I requested EMS and began establishing a crime scene. Mr. [VICTIM ] began rolling on the ground and grabbing his face. I noticed a female that was standling close by Mr. [VICTIM ]. Mr. [VICTIM ] pointed at her and stated that her boyfriend was the one that cut him with the machete. I identified the female as Mrs. [WITNESS ]. Mrs. [WITNESS ] was making statements like “It wasn’t a machete.”
EMs arrived and began treating Mr. [VICTIM ]. The medic told me that it is possible that the injury that Mr. [VICTIM ] sustained could have been a machete.
I noticed Mrs. [WITNESS ] walking away from me and I walked back up to her brought her back to the scene. Mrs. [WITNESS ] stated that her boyfriend, the one that was involved in this altercation walked towards the daycare on W 54th Street and that his name is “Tommy.”
Shortly after I noticed a male wearing a white tank top approach the scene and say that he is trying to talk to his girlfriend, while pointing towards Mrs. [WITNESS ]. Because Mr. [VICTIM ] stated that Mrs. [WITNESS ]’s boyfriend is the one that cut him with a Machete, I detained “Tommy” and while doing so, Officer Decker noticed blood on his right forearm but no injuries. I identified “Tommy” as Mr. William Thomas Hobbs. Mr. Hobbs was placed in double locked handcuffs and into the rear of my patrol vehicle.
I noticed that Mr. Hobbs address is near the daycare on W 54th Street. This address is [SINGLE DIGIT BLOCK] W 54th Street. I walked the path to see if I can find a weapon that was used in this incident.
When I got ot [SINGLE DIGIT BLOCK] W 54th Street, I noticed a black truck sitting on the lawn of the house. Inside the truck was a black knife that was wedged in between the seats. The vehicle is registered to Mr. Hobbs brother. Mr. Hobbs brother stated that he allows Mr. Hobbs to drive the truck.
Once detectives arrived to the scene, I transported Mr. Hobbs to the Central Precinct located at 1710 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd for interviews.
It was determined that Mr. Hobbs is going to be placed under arrest and he was transported to the Chatham County Detention Center.
My supervisor, Major crime detectives and Forensics all responded to the scene.
