Discretion is advised.]Dispatch advised of a physical domestic and the parties are separated. The caller was walking away from the residence down Shamrock Farm Road. I initially responded code one. Dispatched advised again the alleged offender was driving down Shamrock Farm Road and swerved to hit the caller. I then responded code three. The vehicle description was a green Toyota Four Runner.The caller advised he turned left on Teague Road towards Clear Creek Road. DFC. Camp was already in the area. He stated the vehicle was traveling back towards Yukon on Teague Road. I had just passed the intersection of Shamrock Farm and Teague Road and I pulled over to turn around. I still had my emergency lights activated. The vehicle drove past me as I was turning around. I activated my sirens again and attempted to catch up to the vehicle. I caught up to the vehicle.The driver showed no signs of slowing or yielding. He did not turn on a blinker or his hazard lights to indicate he was pulling over. Teague Road is a one lane gravel road. We passed a few places to fully pull off the road. He passed every place.Given his failure to pull over and the extent of the alleged crimes, I decided to attempt to end the pursuit by ramming his vehicle. I struck his vehicle in the back driver side rear bumper area with the front passenger side bumper area of my vehicle. It was not successful. The driver started to wave one hand out of the driver side window. He still did not show any signs of pulling over.We were approaching the intersection of Yukon Road and Teague Road. The road widen slightly and I began to attempt to ram the vehicle again. The driver pulled over on the right hand side of the road in a grassy area and stopped. I pulled my patrol vehicle partially in front of the vehicle and I exited my patrol vehicle. I drew my department issued Glock 17 and kept it at a low ready as I approached the driver side of the vehicle from the rear of my vehicle. I instructed the driver to show me his hands. He complied. He had a black object in his right hand when he raised his hands. He stated it was a phone and I observed it appeared to be a cell phone.I holstered my weapon and instructed the driver to exit the vehicle. He did not comply. DFC. Camp approached the vehicle from the rear. I unlocked the drivers door through the window and opened the door. I instructed the driver to exit the vehicle again and he did not comply. DFC. Camp and I pulled the driver out of the vehicle. He refused commands to put his hands behind his back. DFC. Camp and I took him ot the ground. He laid on his back. DFC. Camp and I ordered him to turn over and we turned him over. We instructed him to put his hands behind his back. We put his hands behind his back and handcuffed him. THe handcuffs were checked for fit and doubled locked.EMS was called to evaluate Kevin RIchards, the driver, and GSP was called to work the accident. I stayed on scene unitl both EMS and GSP were finished with their tasks. DFC. Hughes arrived on scene and he transported Kevin to the GIlmer County Detention Center. DFC.
