FLOYD COUNTY, Ga. β A Lindale man is facing felony charges after allegedly allowing a dangerous dog to attack a 3-year-old child, leaving the toddler with serious injuries.
The incident took place on February 10 at a residence on Davis Street in Rome, according to law enforcement. Deputies say 39-year-old Daniel Ray Baldwin knowingly let the young child near a dog named JJ, despite being aware of the animalβs history of aggression and its potential to harm.
Investigators report that the dog attacked the child, inflicting deep lacerations on the arm and puncture wounds on the leg.
Baldwin was arrested and charged with second-degree felony cruelty to children and misdemeanor reckless conduct. He is currently being held at the Floyd County Jail on a $7,900 bond.
