FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – Jerry Chambers has been arrested and charged with murder and child cruelty following the death of his 3-month-old son, Joshua, in a College Park hotel room, according to Fulton County Jail records.
Police responded to the Travelodge on Old National Parkway on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, where they found Chambers. According to an arrest warrant, Chambers admitted to leaving his infant son alone in the hotel room while he went to work on Sunday. When he returned, he found the child unresponsive and foaming at the mouth.
Chambers told investigators he attempted to resuscitate the baby but failed. Instead of calling for help, he left the hotel and stayed elsewhere overnight, returning the following morning before heading to work again. Authorities say he did not contact emergency services until Tuesday evening—more than two days after first discovering his son unresponsive.
Police confirmed that no medical assistance was sought during that time.
