FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – Paraguayan midfielder Miguel Almirón is making his return to Atlanta United, where he will join a team featuring several new faces, including a new head coach, president and CEO, and sporting director. The 30-year-old previously played for Atlanta from 2017 to 2018, helping lead the team to victory in the 2018 MLS Cup.

In 2019, Almirón transferred to Newcastle United in the English Premier League, where he spent six seasons. During his tenure, he tallied six assists and scored 23 goals, including an impressive 11-goal season in 2022-2023.
