On 10-05-2024 at 2043 hours I was dispatched to [400 BLOCK] B Cattleman Dr in reference to a male screaming outside his residence. I arrived and found John Gale standing in the road shirtless at that location. After I got out of my marked patrol vehicle I noticed a family across the street having a cookout watching what was happening. I spoke with Mr. Gale and he advised that he was upset about his girlfriend leaving. While speaking with Mr. Gale he repeatedly balled his fist. He advised that he was mad at everyone and willing to kill anyone. I continued to speak with him and I noticed signs of impairment. While standing still Mr. Gale would lose his balance and I smelt an alcoholic beverage from his person. While speaking to him he stated “took my god destroys you fuks” and took a step closer. Mr. Gale took a few more steps forward and raised his arms in a fighting manner. I ordered him to step back and drew my taser holding it behind my back. I notified dispatch to have another unit enroute to my location. He walked to his truck that was parked on the driveway and I noticed a pile of items in front of the front door. I asked him what it was doing there he stated “I told her to get her sht out of here.” He started walking closer to me in an angered manner saying “you wanna get in the middle of it.” A Whitfield County Deputy then arrived on scene. I asked what he was drinking at that time and he advised everything he wanted. When asked if him and his girlfriend, [WITNESS #1], got into an altercation he advised that they did and that it was not physical. He then started yelling at the deputy walking towards him with his fist balled. He returned to the side of his vehicle and advised that he had been drinking. I inspected the items in front of the door and noticed a small television damaged. I asked him if the items were hers and he advised they were. He then walked inside his residence and slammed the door closed.
While standing in the driveway I could hear him screaming vulgar language from inside his residence. He then ripped the curtain that was covering the front windows and threw a glass bottle from the kitchen into the living room. Mr. Gale stepped outside then turned around pulling his pants down showing his butt and sexual organs within public view and stepped back inside the residence slamming the door closed. He walked outside onto the driveway and started screaming. Mr. Gale started walking towards me. I raised my taser and ordered him to get down. He continued to get closer and I warned him that I would use the taser. He stopped and started walking towards the door. At that time another Whitfield County Deputy arrived on scene. I stepped on the porch and pushed him away from the door. A deputy grabbed his arm and brought him to the vehicle parked in the driveway. Both deputies held him pressed to the vehicle while I placed him under arrest at 2114 hours. We transported him to my patrol vehicle and placed him on the drivers side rear seat.
While on the way to the Whitfield County Jail Mr. Gale intentionally struck his head against the plexiglass that was dividing him and I several times. He also advised several times that he would kill me. When we arrived at the jail it took three officers to transport him to a holding cell.
I spoke with the complainant who was [WITNESS #2]. She advised she was the landlord of the property and the resident that lived beside Mr. Gale called her to notify her of the situation that had happened.
I then spoke with the neighbor who was [VICTIM #1]. He advised that Mr. Gale had been screaming and slamming doors causing his house to shake for a hour before law enforcement arrived. He also advised that after we had left with Mr. Gale he went to close the front door and smelt an odor of alcohol
I spoke with [WITNESS #1] and she advised they had an verbal argument and left while Mr. Gale was away.
Mr. Gale was charged with disorderly conduct (OCGA 16-11-39), public indecency (OCGA 16-6-8), criminal trespass FV (OCGA 16-7-21) and obstructing law enforcement. (OCGA 16-10-24)
