Benson, responded to a Subject Complaint at [100 BLOCK] Forrest Park Lane. In reference to 911 calls reporting a white male walking on the street with a handgun appearing agitated. As a result, the suspect was arrested on scene and I secured a warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.Before my arrival, Paulding dispatch was receiving several 911 calls regarding what was going on Forrest Park Lane. Initially it was a complainant at [100 BLOCK] Forrest Park Lane calling to report a white male walking with a handgun. The complainant, [WITNESS ], described the male to be shirtless, wearing grey shorts, and wearing no shoes walking in the street with a handgun. While en route to the call more reports to 911 dispatch came in that there was possibly a neighbor dispute. The male, Rynn Taylor, called 911 as well stating he did have a gun on his person but was putting it away.Upon arrival, Deputy T. Stone 147 and I parked at the end of Forrest Park Ln and Forrest Hills Dr. Deputy Stone and I were able to make with [WITNESS ] first. [WITNESS ] informed me that he went outside to go to his vehicle and that is when he saw Rynn outside. [WITNESS ] explained that Rynn did a motion of loading a handgun to the right of his body. [WITNESS ] explained further that he did not see a gun, but knows what racking back a handgun looks like. [WITNESS ] stated that his Wife, [WITNESS ], also saw Rynn outside. [WITNESS ]’s Daughter did state she saw Rynn go into the residence of [100 BLOCK] Forrest Park Ln.Deputy Stone, Corporal C. Dyer 15, Deputy E. Lorntzen 234, and I went to make at [100 BLOCK] Forrest Park Ln. Rynn answered the door and did inform Corporal Dyer he no longer had the gun on him. While Deputy Stone and Corporal Dyer spoke to Rynn Deputy Lorntzen and I went to speak to the residents at [100 BLOCK] Forrest Park Ln. I met [VICTIM ] and [VICTIM ] in the front yard.[VICTIM ] explained that his parents are out of town so he came to take the dogs outside. While inside there was music playing, and [VICTIM ] stayed outside in his vehicle waiting for [VICTIM ]. Rynn came out of his residence yelling at [VICTIM ] to turn the music off and [VICTIM ] had to explain that it wasn’t coming from his vehicle. [VICTIM ] stated that Rynn began to use racial slurs at him. It was also stated by both [VICTIM ] and [VICTIM ] that Rynn accused them of selling drugs from out of their residence.Talking to [VICTIM ] further I asked him what happened next and he explained that Rynn came out of the residence a second time and but [VICTIM ] heard the sound of a gun racking back. [VICTIM ] then looked in his driver side mirror and saw Rynn coming from the rear direction behind of his vehicle. [VICTIM ] did advise that there was still ongoing verbal dispute and that Rynn was trying to hide the gun behind his back, but he stated he saw it. [VICTIM ] described the gun to Deputy D. Heggestuen 187 and I both as a black pistol, and stated that it was noticeable because Rynn is a white male that was shirtless during the encounter. Speaking to [VICTIM ] further he did inform Deputy Heggestuen and I both that he was placed in fear of being shot and that Rynn gave him reason to believe he could be.After Rynn told [VICTIM ] to turn the music off multiple times he informed him that he was going to call the cops to him arrested for having crack. [VICTIM ] called his cousin, [VICTIM ], who was inside the residence and informed him of what happened and [VICTIM ] came outside. [VICTIM ] and Rynn then exchanged words, and again it was stated that Rynn used racial slurs at [VICTIM ] and [VICTIM ]. Both [VICTIM ] and [VICTIM ] went inside the residence and called 911 and waited for responders.[VICTIM ], [VICTIM ], and the neighbor, [WITNESS ], all agreed to do witness statement forms that were collected by me and added to the report for reference. [WITNESS ]’s Wife, [WITNESS ], completed a witness statement form as well.Corporal Dyer, Deputy B. Mattick 255, Deputy Heggestuen, and I walked back to Rynn’s residence to speak to him further. Deputy Heggestuen mirandized Rynn and asked Rynn if he wished to speak further Rynn informed him yes. The following conversation was recorded by Deputies department issued body mic’s. Deputy Heggestuen asked Rynn if he normally carries his firearm with a round in the chamber and Rynn informed him no. Deputy Heggestuen further asking Rynn if he loaded a round in the chamber today before confronting [VICTIM ], and Rynn said yes. Rynn did explain that he did walk away from the incident one time, but went back to yelling at [VICTIM ] more. During the second exchange he did in fact have the firearm. Deputy Heggestuen asked Rynn if he loaded a round into the chamber before or after the alleged threats of violence against Rynn by [VICTIM ] and [VICTIM ] were made. Rynn stated that it was before. When asked why try to confront [VICTIM ] once more after the first initial verbal dispute Rynn didn’t have answer for it.It was informed to Rynn that he was being placed under arrest, and Rynn asked if he could wake his Mother, [REDACTED], up to watch over his daughter while he’s gone. Deputy Heggestuen and Deputy Mattick remained in the residence with Rynn, while I retrieved a Temporary Custody placement form. Initially Rynn explained that he could not find the weapon that was used today. Deputy Stone in the prior conversation ran the serial number of the firearm through dispatch and the firearm was left on the kitchen table. Deputy Mattick recovered the Taurus PT140 serial #SYJ45273, silver and black in color.I placed the weapon in an evidence bag in my truck to be placed into evidence. Rynn was informed that the gun would be placed in evidence due to the case. The temporary custody form was completed and was attached to the report for reference. Rynn was walked outside with Deputy Heggestuen and I, Deputy Heggestuen patted down Rynn in front of my patrol car. Rynn did inform me that he had rods in his wrists and his wrists were scarred. Due to the rods in Rynn’s wrists I placed the handcuffs in front of Rynn and double locked the handcuffs. Deputy Heggestuen buckled Rynn in the back seat and I notified dispatch I was en route to the jail. Corporal Dyer notified the [VICTIM ] on scene that Rynn was placed under arrest and would be going to jail.I arrived at the Paulding County Detention Center and custody of Rynn was transferred to the jail. After leaving the jail I placed the Taurus pistol in evidence in locker 16. I obtained a warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon signed by Judge Parsons.[End of Narrative]. I, Deputy S. Benson, responded to a Subject Complaint at [100 BLOCK] Forrest Park Lane. In reference to 911 calls reporting a white male walking on the street with a handgun appearing agitated. As a result, the suspect was arrested on scene and I secured a warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Before my arrival, Paulding dispatch was receiving several 911 calls regarding what was going on Forrest Park Lane. Initially it was a complainant at [100 BLOCK] Forrest Park Lane calling to report a white male walking with a handgun. The complainant, [WITNESS ], described the male to be shirtless, wearing grey shorts, and wearing no shoes walking in the street with a handgun.
