, I, Deputy B. Durham responded to GA Highway 96 in reference to a hit and run. (Roco)
Once I arrived on the scene, I made with VICTIM and VICTIM standing beside the van (2013 Ford Van). I asked both occupants if they were OK, and both stated they were OK with no injuries. [VICTIM ] stated they were traveling west on GA Highway 96, and a gray Kia Forte (tag # [REDACTED BY AGENCY]) struck them. [VICTIM ] and [VICTIM ] said they were heading straight when the Kia tried to pass them to get into the left-turning lane. [VICTIM ] said the Kia struck the left back driver side of the van causing minor damage to the vehicle. I asked both occupants if the driver stopped and checked on them. Both individuals replied that the Kia made a U-turn and turned north on Peach Blossom. I asked [VICTIM ] if he could show me the damage to the vehicle.
As we walked to the vehicle, I discovered functional damage to the left rear driver’ s-side bumper. I took photos of the damage, which will be included in the report.
After speaking with [VICTIM ] and [VICTIM ], I gave them a case number.
I left the scene and went to [100 BLOCK] WynnField Rd to the Kia Forte driver. Once I arrived on scene, I discovered the vehicle parked in the residence’s driveway. The vehicle had damages to the right front passenger side bumper and doors. I exited my vehicle and ed REDACTED and Khaliah Williams (daughter and driver) in front of the residence.
I asked Khaliah what happened at the accident. Khaliah said she was driving west on Ga 96 when she struck a vehicle trying to get in the turning lane. Khaliah said she waited for the driver to leave, but they did not get out of the vehicle. Khaliah said she came staright and called her dad. At that time, I informed Khaliah to turn around and place her hands behind her back. I place both handcuffs on her wrist. The handcuffs were checked for proper fit and double-locked. I escorted her to the back of my patrol vehicle and transported her to Houston County Detention Center to be processed on her charges.
