On Wednesday July 17, 2024
at approximately 0906 hours, I was dispatched to [60 BLOCK] Colonial Way, Cartersville GA 30120 in reference to a domestic dispute in progress. While in route to the call E-911 advised me that the suspect Ms. Melody Vosburg was leaving on foot.
After pulling into the neighborhood I observed Ms. Vosburg walking down the roadway. I exited my patrol unit and began speaking with Ms. Vosburg. Ms. Vosburg was talking out of her head and not making any sense. Ms. Vosburg continued saying things that did not make sense and waving her arms around. Ms. Vosburg was placed into a patrol unit and transported to the original call location.
I approached the residence and met with Mr. [VICTIM ]. Mr. [VICTIM ] was holding a bloody rag in his hand and had blood coming from his nose. Mr. [VICTIM ] had two small tissues inside of his nostrils trying to get the blood to stop running. Mr. [VICTIM ] stated Ms. Vosburg is his daughter and she is having a mental health episode. Mr. [VICTIM ] stated Ms. Vosburg hasn’t slept in several days and has been downstairs screaming for hours. Mr. [VICTIM ] stated he was seated upstairs when Ms. Vosburg was yelling.
Mr. [VICTIM ] stated he ignored Ms. Vosburg and she approached him from behind and screamed into his ear. Mr. [VICTIM ] stated he jumped and Ms. Vosburg then struck him in his nose causing it to bleed. Mr. [VICTIM ] stated he was a military medic and treated the wound himself and did not need an ambulance. Mrs. [REDACTED] advised she was not in the room when the altercation took place but advised Ms. Vosburg’s actions the last few days have been very hectic. Mrs. [REDACTED] stated she was cleaning up after Ms. Vosburg and noticed all of her medicines she is supposed to take for her mental health has not been taken. Mrs. [REDACTED] stated Ms. Vosburg refuses to take her medication and has been yelling for several days.
Ms. Vosburg was transported to the Bartow County Jail for Battery Family Violence for striking Mr. [VICTIM ] in the face causing his nose to bleed and turn red. I took photographs of Mr. [VICTIM ]’s nose and saved them under the above case number. All events were recorded on my body worn camera.
