In response to a person shot call at [3600 BLOCK] Mercer University Dr (Madison on Mercer Apts) I was approached by a black male stating that one of his neighbors shot through a shared wall between their apartments. The male stated that the shooting came from the apartment behind his in apartment [REDACTED].
I made with the subjects in apartment [REDACTED]. The subjects were identified as [WITNESS ] and [VICTIM ]. There was a large amount of blood on the doorway and inside apartment [REDACTED] where I did observe that [VICTIM ] had been shot. An ambulance was called for [VICTIM ] to be treated for his injuries. Victor Brown was identified as the shooter by [VICTIM ] and [WITNESS ] prior to [VICTIM ] being transported to the hospital by ambulance due to his injuries.
The male that approached me earlier, now idientified as [WITNESS ], as well as [WITNESS ] stated that the shooter was the neighbor in apartment [REDACTED]. That neighbor was identified as Victor Brown. Victor Brown admitted to shooting his firearm into the apartment of [WITNESS ] where he shot [VICTIM ] in the arm. Victor Brown did recklessly fire his handgun through the wall of the apartment where it could have injured or killed the adjacent neighbors, [WITNESS ] (Apt [REDACTED]) and [REDACTED] (Apt [REDACTED]).
There were several children in apartment [REDACTED] where Victor Brown was shooting that may have also been injured by the gun fire. Those children were identified as REDACTED BY AGENCY, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (6 yoa), and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (8 yoa).
Victor Brown was identified as the shooter by [VICTIM ] as well prior to [VICTIM ] being transported to the hospital by ambulance due to his injuries. Victor Brown was taken into custody at that time. The firearm Victor Brown used (Glock 22 .40 cal handgun Ser. WPF104) was collected at the scene. A Person’s Investigator as well as the crime lab responded to the scene. Inv. J. Stokes responed and advised all further proceedings.
Victor Brown was transported to the Bibb County LEC in reference to this incident. The handgun was turned over to Inv. J. Kirkland with the crimelab as evidence to this incident.
