On Tuesday, September 10th, 2024
, I (Cpl. M. Ha 107) responded to 4321 Hartley Bridge Road (Kroger) near the Starbucks area in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon my arrival, I spoke with the manager of Kroger who advised that a female subject approached him and asked to call the Sheriff’s Office in reference to a domestic incident. He led me to where “victim” was at. I located the subject identified as Lillian Redd sitting down in the corner of Starbucks area.
I spoke with Redd and she claimed that her husband ([VICTIM ]) had assaulted her. Redd advised that they are less and that they are living inside a tent that they had behind the Kroger in the wood line near the construction site. She advised that they have a 2016 Blue Nissan Versa that is under her name. She believes that he took the vehicle and is at the Texaco gas station. She claimed that he had dragged her, hit her on the head, and beat her up. When he had left for a brief moment and came back inside, she grabbed her pepper spray and he ran out of the tent. She ran towards Kroger and had the manager call the police. I asked if she needed EMS but she declined treatment.
I looked at the location of where she claimed that he assaulted her, however, there were no fresh marks on her body to corroborate her story. She had bruising on her forearm but they appeared to be defensive bruising and not offensive. I went to the gravel road and followed the trail but did not see the vehicle there at this time. I asked Redd if she had any place to go until I make with him. She stated that her friend ([REDACTED]) works at the Texaco Gas Station and could stay with her but supposedly she works so she would have to go to the gas station until [REDACTED] gets off. I transported Redd to the Texaco Gas Station.
When we arrived, I did observe a Blue Nissan Versa parked at the gas pumps. I stepped out and let Redd out of the back. I observed a female subject approaching Redd, screaming and cussing her out for being a thief. I intercepted her and asked her to step back so I can figure out what is going on. She identified herself as [REDACTED] (supposedly Redd’s friend) and she stated that Redd stole multiple items from her residence at [5500 BLOCK] Mount Pleasant Church Road (see case 2024
-76688). I advised her to wait and get statements from her. Then a male subject (identified as [REDACTED]) do the same thing. I got the two subjects away from Redd. [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] was making statements that Redd was the predominant aggressor and is always beating up [VICTIM ] and hurting him and all he ever does is trying to stop her by grabbing on to her arms (which explains the old bruise marks on her forearm). I told Redd to stand by while I spoke with [VICTIM ].
When I spoke with [VICTIM ], his eyes were blood shot red from the pepper spray. I asked if he needed medical attention. He advised he was okay and [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] allowed him to use flowing water to rinse out the pepper spray. [VICTIM ] stated that he woke up from his sleep this afternoon and Redd started arguing with him. During the altercation, she grabbed her pepper spray and sprayed him in his eyes. He stated that he got into his vehicle (2016 Nissan Versa) and attempted to drive away from her. He stated that he drove to [REDACTED]’s house at [5500 BLOCK] Mount Pleasant Church Road and [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] attempted to wash out the pepper spray. They drove his vehicle to Texaco where they met us at the location. While I was speaking with [VICTIM ], [REDACTED] was getting her items out of the vehicle. Redd was trying to confront [REDACTED] telling her to leave her vehicle alone.
I separated Redd away from [REDACTED] and had dispatch run the vehicle (Tag [REDACTED]). Dispatch advised that [VICTIM ] was the only registered owner listed on the vehicle. I asked [VICTIM ] to see if he needed any medial attention he denied it again. I took Redd into custody for Battery- Family Violence and False report of a crime. [VICTIM ] was given the victim’s case brochure and asked where he will be at. [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] advised that he can stay with them at [5500 BLOCK] Mount Pleasant Church Road. Redd and her purse was ed for weapons and contrabands. All contrabands were given to [VICTIM ] to hold on to. Two knives and the key chain containing the pepper spray were turned into the crime lab. Redd was taken into custody and transported to Bibb County LEC without further incident.
