On July 25, 2024
, at approximately 0157 hours, I responded to a disorderly person at 5353 Reynolds St at Chandler Hospital.
Upon arrival, I observed the suspect, Frederick Moore, restrained to a hospital bed in the hallway, acting obnoxiously and speaking loudly. Frederick Moore had the scent of alcohol on his person and appeared very intoxicated.
Multiple nurse staff was out in the hallway helping to keep Frederick Moore restrained, he was strap down by both wrists and ankles. He was moved room number 1 as I begin to speak to the nurse staff.
According to Chatham EMS personnel, Frederick Moore was transported to Chandler Hospital after being punched in the nose while attempting to enter someone’s house. No further details regarding this incident were provided.
According to [VICTIM ]’s, Frederick Moore was transported to get a CT scan due to an apparent nose injury. Once in the CT scan room, Frederick Moore began acting obnoxiously. [VICTIM ] attempted to calm Frederick Moore, at which point he intentionally punched her in the chest area approximately 2-3 times. [VICTIM ] did not report any injuries and confirmed she was ok. She expressed her desire to press charges against Frederick Moore.
I did not get the details on whether he was lying down or standing up when the incident happened.
According to [VICTIM ]’s the security gaurd, he was called to the CT scan room when Frederick Moore began acting disorderly. When [VICTIM ] attempted to calm Frederick Moore down, Moore tried to choke him. He stated he was in between the nurses and Frederick Moore when the incident happened, he was acting as a shield to protect the nurse staff.
[VICTIM ] was able to remove Frederick Moore’s hands without struggle and did not report any injuries. [VICTIM ] stated he did not wish to press charges. He had video footage of part of the incident, he was sent a link to send the video for evidence.
Due to the fact [VICTIM ] didn’t wanrt to press charges for simple battery. The nature of call is not aggravated assault because strangulation did not occur, Frederick Moore was charged with simple battery for the assault on the nurse.
According to [WITNESS ]’s the head nurse and witness, Frederick Moore had been problematic since his arrival, and she wanted him removed from the hospital and taken to jail.
After my investigation, Frederick Moore was charged with Simple Battery (OCGA 16-5-23) for intentionally punching the nurse and Disorderly Conduct (OCGA 16-11-39) for acting violently and placing others in reasonable fear. Head Nurse [WITNESS ] provided the necessary medical clearance paperwork. Moore was ed incident to arrest and transported to CCDC for booking and processing.
