July 20th, 2024
2231 hrs, I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Woodhouse Lane #[REDACTED] in reference to a Domestic Situation.
From her upstairs apartment ([REDACTED]), [WITNESS ] heard loud noises like an object banging against a wall from downstairs. [WITNESS ] then heard a woman screaming “Stop!”. A man began yelling as well. She then heard what sounded like doors banging. A woman yelled “I’m going to call the cops!” . [WITNESS ] called 911.
I, along with other officers, located the victim’s family waving us over to building [REDACTED]. [VICTIM ] told me that the father of her children Quinten Sumpter and she stood in front of the building talking. Quinten came over because [VICTIM ] has not been answering his telephone calls. They began arguing because their relationship is ending. [VICTIM ] has begun pursuing another, healthier relationship. Quentin asked if another male was in the . [VICTIM ] at first told Quinten that no male was in the . Then she told him that there was a male inside. However, that male is not involved romantically with her. [VICTIM ] tried explaining to Quinten that their relationship is over. [REDACTED] ([REDACTED BY AGENCY]/2010) and [REDACTED] [REDACTED BY AGENCY]/24) walked outside at this time.
Quentin became angered and an argument ensued. The male exited the and pushed [VICTIM ] inside, closing the door behind her. Quentin moved to an open bedroom window, climbed in and began punching [VICTIM ] in the face and side of the head. He grabbed her by her throat with two hands and squeezed hard enough to restrict her breathing, causing her to urinate in her clothing. Quinten called [VICTIM ] a “stupid bich”, while threatening to “beat her as”. [VICTIM ] was able to kick Quinten away using both her feet. Quinten picked [VICTIM ] up from the floor and threw her into the dresser. He left the scene after [VICTIM ] said she would be calling police.
I was unable to observe any physical injuries to [VICTIM ]. She complained of a sore throat. EMS was declined. SPD supervisors were notified. Family Violence detectives notified and responded. I uploaded photos of the bedroom to Evidence.com. Domestic Violence Lethality read. Safe Shelter was not ed by [VICTIM ].
