On Monday, August 19th, 2024
at approximately 0502 hours I was dispatched to the area of Rogers Cut Off Rd and Highway 411, Kingston, Georgia 30145 in reference to a person laying on the side of the roadway.
Upon my arrival into the area, I observed a female who I identified as Antazhai Jones laying on the roadway of Rogers Cut Off Rd where it intersects with Highway 411. I had already checked on the welfare of Antazhai earlier in the night when a call was made into Bartow Dispatch saying a person was stumbling into the roadway (Refer to Case 024-00023175). Antazhai refused any help earlier in the night and decided to continue walking. I advised her to stay out of the road and she acted as if she understood.
When I observed Antazhai laying on the roadway on Rogers Cut Off Rd, I activated my emergency blue lights on my county issued marked patrol vehicle and spoke with Antazhai. Antazhai woke up and talked with me. Antazhai said she was wanting to go to Tennessee. Deputies offered to take her to Adairsville so she would be closer to getting to Tennessee and she refused. Deputies offered for Antazhai to go to a motel for the night since Antazhai appeared tired and Antazhai said she would like that. When asked if she had the funds for a motel, she would not answer coherantly. Deputies continuously asked for Antazhai to show us a form of identification and she would not. Antazhai provided her name and birthday but this information would not come back on GCIC/NCIC.
I asked Antazhai if she wanted us to call for an ambulance so medical staff could speak with her. Antazhai said she did not want an ambulance. When Antazhai was asked what year it was, Antazhai said the year was 2023. Deputies called for an ambulance for a mental health evaluation. When this request was made, Antazhai then became very irate screaming at deputies saying the year was 2023. Antazhai began digging in a purse and I could not see her hand. I ordered for Antazhai to show me her hands in which she complied.
Antazhai stated she was not about to play any games with deputies. Antazhai made a comment about how she was mad deputies woke her up from her sleep. Due to Antazhai being irate and not cooperating with deputies, I ordered for Antazhai to place her hands behind her back. Antazhai tensed her arms to where it was difficult to place her hands behind her back. Once deputies managed to place Antazhai’s hands behind her back, handcuffs were applied.
Antazhai was placed into the back of my county issued marked patrol vehicle where while in the process she tried to resist getting into the vehicle by keeping her legs out of the vehicle. I picked up both of her legs and placed them inside of the vehicle. I explained to Antazhai she was being arrested for Disorderly Conduct – County Ordinance. Antazhai continuously asked after I told her she was being arrested for Disorderly Conduct – County Ordinance what she was being charged with and thought I was kidnapping her and taking her to Arkansas after I told her I was taking her to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
Upon arriving at the jail, her belongings were brought into the jail to be turned over to the jail staff. Deputies were informed by the jail staff whatever could not fit in a gray tub on their Booking Pat Down counter would have to be submitted into evidence. I turned over Antazhai to the jail staff without incident and took her black suitcase containing clothing items to the evidence room to be submitted.
A citation for Disorderly Conduct – County Ordinance 50-76 Section 9 was taken out for the Bartow County Magistrate Court:
Sec. 50-76. – Disorderly conduct defined.
