On June 6, 2024
at 2100 hours I was dispatched to Red top Mountain Road, Acworth, GA in regards to an agency assist.
Dispatch advised Georgia State Patrol (GSP) was out with an intoxicated individual on Bethany Bridge. Dispatch stated the subject later identified as Tia Lyttle, was trying to get away and jump off the bridge.
Upon arrival GSP and DNR had Tia detained and she was placed in my patrol vehicle to escort her off the bridge to a safe area to talk. Dispatch was advised to have EMS en route.
Once in a safe are I tried to speak with Tia. Tia was being very verbal and making vulgar statements to myself and other Officers. I could smell the alcohol coming off her breath every time she spoke. I advised Tia I wanted to help get her safe. Tia continued to yell obscenities and refused to cooperate.
EMS arrived on scene. Tia would not speak with EMS personnel.
I again tried to speak with Tia in order to find her a ride. Tia was still being belligerent while speaking with her. Tia finally gave me a phone number to her mother. While speaking with Tia’s mother, Tia would try to walk away from Officers. Tia tried walking away numerous times while shouting and yelling at Officers trying to get her to sit down. Tia finally would sit and relax then jump up and try walking away over and over.
I advised Tia she was now under arrest for disorderly conduct and escorted her to my patrol vehicle.
Tia was intoxicated and a danger to her self if I was to release her. Tia also made comments that she was going to jump off the bridge and swim until she drowned.
I transported Tia to the Bartow County Jail. I advised the Jail staff of the suicidal statements.
I issued a citation to Tia Lyttle for Disorderly Conduct which was placed in her booking folder at the Jail.
