On June 1, 2023 at approximately 8:15 AM I, Dep. D. Medina responded to [4000 BLOCK] Log Cabin Dr. Apt. [REDACTED] in reference to assault.
Enroute to [4000 BLOCK] Log Cabin Ct. I was notified that there was a male laying hands on his girlfriend and that he had put a knife against her neck. On arrival I met with [VICTIM ] outside of the apartment and asked if her boyfriend was still around and stated he had left after he found out she had called 911. [VICTIM ] stated that her boyfriend of three years had assaulted her.
She stated that they had been living together for four months and the argument began when she wanted to let some of her family members stay with her at the apartment they shared. She stated that he got upset and did not want them to stay with them and to prevent the argument from getting bigger, she went to a neighbors house to stay. She stated that she went back the apartment and the argument continued. She stated that the argument led to him beating up on her. She stated that he pulled her towards the stove and began to burn her ring finger. From there it continued to the living room where he got her on the floor and pulled her hoodie over her head and began to hit her on the face as she was telling him multiple times to stop. She then stated that he began to choke as he held her down.
Lastly, she stated that during the moment he had her down, he pulled her hoodie over her head and put his knife to her neck and made statements of ” I am going to kill you.” I asked how did she know it was a knife and she stated she could feel the tip and edge of the blade through the hoodie against her neck and described the knife having a wooden handle and brown in color. I asked if incidents like this have happened before and she stated this has multiple times.
I was able to observe her face and she had faint bruising to the side of her face from where she had been struck. She also had multiple cuts to her bottom lip from where he punched her. Also, there was three faint bruising marks on the side of her neck consistent with someone squeezing her neck. She also pointed to a faint cut or bruising mark and stated that is where he put the knife to her neck. I asked to see her hand, and she showed me the ring finger and she had a blister from where he pushed it into the stove. She was given a case card and advised that if he returned, to not let him in and to call Bibb County Sheriffs office.
At approximately 10:45 AM I was notified by dispatch that the male subject had returned to the apartment. I called Mrs. [VICTIM ] to let her know I was on the way and she stated he had already left. I asked her if he had said anything in particular when he was punching her in her face, burning her finger or had the knife to her neck, and she stated that when he had the knife to her neck, he said ” if I can’t have you, no one will” and ” I will kill you”. She stated that she was still afraid that he would return and harm her and would probably go stay with a family memeber of hers.
