Officer Cavender relayed to me this was the same subject he and Officer Hackett had just dealt with at Lee’s Crossing Apartments (case 2024113047). According to Cavender the subject, Rodney Warren, was intoxicated and reeked of the odor of alcohol. Hackett had just transported Warren to the motel. When I arrived I saw Warren in front of the entrance to the front desk. Warren was yelling at the top of his lungs and cussing at someone on his phone. He was also flipping his tupperware container full of his clothes. There were customers outside who directed me to Warren, but denied being affronted personally by him. When I confronted Warren, he asked if he could just gather his belongings. I asked if he was willing to leave, and Warren said he would go with us. I told him I was not taking him anywhere else after he was just dropped off by an officer. Warren then said he would go to jail, then.Officer Haire, Belcher, and eventually Hackett showed up. While they monitored Warren, I went inside and spoke with [WITNESS ], the complainant and manager. [WITNESS ] stated Warren was yelling while customers were coming in and out of the office. He claimed Warren came in and asked to use the bathroom as well, and when [WITNESS ] said he would have to book a room to use the bathroom, Warren went outside while holding his crotch. [WITNESS ] said he watched his cameras, and saw Warren go around the south side of the building and urinate.I went outside to check, and did see a liquid on the ground where this allegedly occurred. However, I did not smell an odor associated with urine coming from the area. The liquid also appeared quite clear. [WITNESS ] tried to obtain video, but was having difficulty. Soon after Hackett peered in and informed me Warren admitted to urinating outside. I went outside to address Warren.I told Warren he was being arrested for public drunkenness and indecency (exposure). I had Warren turn around and put his hands behind his back. Warren fully complied. I placed him in handcuffs, ensuring proper fit and the cuffs were double-locked. Warren asked what else he was supposed to do, “pee on [himself]?” I brought my vehicle to where Warren was, ed him incident to arrest in front of my car camera, and secured him inside the vehicle. Officer Hackett gathered his belongings again.I transported Warren to the jail, and Hackett followed towing Warren’s property. I transferred custody of Warren to staff along with all of his property. There were two cans of Budweiser attached to a six-pack plastic ring that we could not take inside the jail. Hackett replied there were three beer cans when he dropped Warren off at the Motel 6. I took pictures of the remaining two cans. He took the unopened cans to the police department to destroy them. I cited Warren for the above mentioned charges.Cleared by arrest[End of Narrative].
