I was dispatched to [300 BLOCK] Adelaide Crossing in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon my arrival at the location, I spoke with [VICTIM ].
I met [VICTIM ] at the Kroger at Crossroads located at 8876 Dallas Acworth Highway. Upon [VICTIM ] was hysterical. [VICTIM ] stated she went to her ex-husband’s, Mark Taylor residence located at [300 BLOCK] Adelaide Crossing after she got back from an Atlanta Braves game. [VICTIM ] advised they began arguing over things that happened after they got divorced. [VICTIM ] explained that she knew Mark had been drinking because of messages he had sent earlier that night to her. [VICTIM ] said she left Mark’s residence to allow things to settle down. [VICTIM ] explained she noticed that Mark had un added her from several social media sites and turned off his location on app that they used to share their location.
[VICTIM ] stated that she was concerned for Mark so she went back to his residence to check on him. After she made with Mark he was laying on his bed and repeatedly asked her to lay down on the bed. [VICTIM ] explained that she was going to leave because she felt unease about the situation and when she got up to leave she left Mark grabbed her and pinned her to the tile floor. [VICTIM ] said that she was able to get away from Mark due to him being unable to keep his balance. [VICTIM ] attempted to leave the residence again and Mark grabbed her arm keeping knocking her bracelet and apple watch off in the common area. [VICTIM ] explained that her shoes fell off during this and she was able to get away from him again and leave the residence. [VICTIM ] said the only things she was able to leave with was her phone, wallet, and car keys.
I requested an ambulance to check on [VICTIM ]. Metro ambulance service arrived and checked [VICTIM ]’s injuries. [VICTIM ] declined being transported to the hospital for further evaulation. I advised [VICTIM ] I would be going the residence to attempt to make with Mark.
Upon arrival at the incident location I located Mark standing in the driveway next to his truck. Mark was having a difficult time standing up. Mark advised he had taken two seroquel. I asked Mark if anything had happened tonight between him and [VICTIM ]. Mark stated that it did not go well. When asked to expand on what he meant by this Mark declined to elaborate. I asked Mark if I could go to the his downstairs apartment where he was residing and he agreed. After entering the basement Mark had a seat at a desk. In the basement I observed beads on the floor that were similar to the bracelet that [VICTIM ] was wearing aligning with her explanation of what happened.
An assisting deputy looked around the basement and located a watch that [VICTIM ] was missing on the staircase in the common room. I observed cameras in the common areas of Mark’s basement apartment when asked if he had a recording of their dispute. Mark stated that these cameras were not set up to record. I asked Mark if he could explain the injuries I observed on [VICTIM ]’s wrists and fingers. Mark said they probably occurred during intercourse. It should be noted that Mark had bruise on his knee that he stated [VICTIM ] caused.
Due to the injuries I observed on [VICTIM ]’s wrists and fingers as well as locating items that [VICTIM ] was missing in the areas she described them being in I placed Mark under arrest for Battery: Family Violence. Mark was placed in a pair of handcuffs that were double locked and checked for fit. Mark was then transported the Paulding County Detention Center without further incident.
It should be noted that an assisting deputy that returned [VICTIM ]’s watch to her was told that prior to our arrival at the incident location. It is believed that Mark went to [VICTIM ]’s residence in Cobb County. Returning the shoes that she left in the basement as well as disconnecting her Internet modem and her ring camera. As previously mentioned upon initial we located Mark next to his truck and he was moving items around in the backseat. The engine bay of Mark’s truck felt warm to the touch according to an assisting deputy on scene. After arrival at the detention center I read a Miranda warning to Mark and he declined to answer any questions without a lawyer present.
Photos of [VICTIM ]’s injuries will be uploaded to the sheriff’s office photo drive under this case number.
