On Thursday, August 1, 2024
, at approximately 0425 hours, I was dispatched to [10 BLOCK] Clearview Dr, in reference to a domestic in progress.
Upon arrival I met with the caller, Mr. [VICTIM ], who stated his son, Mr. Brandon Reaves, assaulted him. I observed Mr. [VICTIM ] to be in a lot of pain, and to have immense swelling surrounding the area of his right eye. I asked Mr. [VICTIM ] what had happened. Mr. [VICTIM ] stated, Mr. Brandon Reaves was in the kitchen making a lot of noise, and told him to stop making so much noise so he could sleep. Mr. [VICTIM ] stated, Mr. Brandon Reaves became argumentative, and pushed him to the ground. Mr. [VICTIM ] stated, once on the ground, Mr. Brandon Reaves stood over top of him holding him down, and striking him in the face with a closed fist. Mr. [VICTIM ] stated, Mr. [VICTIM ] overheard the fight, and ran upstairs to separate them. I asked Mr. [VICTIM ] if he was able to open his eye at all, and he was unable to do so for me while on scene.
I spoke with Mr. [VICTIM ], who witnessed Mr. Brandon Reaves striking Mr. [VICTIM ]. Mr. [VICTIM ] stated, he was asleep in his room downstairs, when he heard “a loud thud.” Mr. [VICTIM ] stated, he went upstairs to investigate the noise, and found Mr. Brandon Reaves standing over Mr. [VICTIM ], holding him on the floor, and striking him in the face with a closed fist. Mr. [VICTIM ] stated, he grabbed Mr. Brandon Reaves to pull him off of Mr. [VICTIM ], when Mr. Brandon Reaves bit Mr. [VICTIM ] on his thigh, and scratched him on his shoulder causing him to bleed.
I made with Mr. Brandon Reeves in order to obtain his statement. Mr. Brandon Reaves stated, nothing had happened between him and Mr. [VICTIM ]. I observed Mr. Brandon Reaves to have blood underneath his nose. When asked how the blood got on his face, Mr. Brandon Reaves would not give a direct answer. I questioned Mr. Brandon Reaves some more on the incident, in which he stated, Mr. [VICTIM ] was telling him to stop making so much noise and shoved him. Mr. Brandon Reaves stated, after he was shoved, he began striking Mr. [VICTIM ].
It was determined that Mr. Brandon Reaves was the primary aggressor, and the blood on his face was likely the result of Mr. [VICTIM ] preventing him from continuing his assault on Mr. [VICTIM ]. I placed Mr. Brandon Reaves under arrest, in handcuffs to the rear. The handcuffs were double locked were checked for proper fit. Mr. Brandon Reaves was ed incident to arrest with no contraband found. Ofc. Davis transported Mr. Brandon Reaves to the Bartow County Jail, where he was turned over to jail staff without incident.
