On 8/9/24, I, Deputy Boyd, was dispatched to [2500 BLOCK] Pleasent Ridge Rd in reference to an Entering Auto.
Prior to arrival, dispatch informed me that the suspect would be in a white Ford truck. Upon arrival with Deputy Patterson, we recognized the male as Martavious Long, a black male who we had previously found walking northbound on Pleasent Ridge Rd. Deputy Patterson and I then grabbed Martavious out of the vehicle and placed him under arrest. Due to my previous encounter with Martavious, EMS was called and informed that he may have altered mental status. After securing Martavious, I then spoke with the owner’s son, [WITNESS ].
[WITNESS ] stated that after returning from vacation, he went to the shop on the property and noticed the door was damaged. He then drove a side-by-side that was in the shop up to the house. While driving the side-byside up to the house, [WITNESS ] noticed that a blue pickup truck that his father, [VICTIM ], owned was in the driveway leading to the house. [WITNESS ] stated that the truck is normally up on the hill next to a tree with a block under its tires. [WITNESS ] then began to look around the property for other items that were out of place.
[WITNESS ] then parked the side-by-side next to the white Ford truck and opened the door, with his Cousin [WITNESS ] nearby. When he opened the door of the truck, he observed Martavious sitting in the driver’s seat. [WITNESS ] stated that Martavious greeted him with, “How are you doing?” [WITNESS ] then shut the door and instructed [WITNESS ] to go into the house. [WITNESS ] then called 911, and we arrived a short time later.
[WITNESS ] then walked me around the property and showed me the damage to the shop door where Martavious had gained entry into the building. He also explained that one of Martavious’s dredlocks was on the passenger side of his side-by-side and that he couldn’t have gotten into it there unless he entered the shop prior to his arrival from vacation. [WITNESS ] stated that the radio that was sitting on the passenger side of the Ford truck was inside the shop. I walked with [WITNESS ] to the blue truck, where he pointed out that there was trash that wasn’t there before in the truck, along with a cloth that matched the one that Martavious was wearing on his right hand when I pulled him out of the White Ford. A shirt I identified as Martavious’s due to my previous encounter with him was also found on the hood of the blue truck.
After EMS checked and Cleared Martavious, Investigator Cardell marandized him, and he refused to speak with her. Martavious was then transported to the Jail with no further incident. At the time we recieved this call, Martavious had been reported missing by Carrollton Police Department. They were notified and Martavious was removed from GCIC.
