On 8-7-24 I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Thomas Wilson Rd, Roopville Ga 30170 in reference to a signal 911 with a lot of yelling in the background.
Upon arrival I walked to the front door. I noticed several spots of blood on the front porch. I knocked on the front door and was met by Offender Michael Clinton Chambers. Michael will be referenced in the rest of this report as Clinton. I asked Clinton if he was the only one and he stated he was. I asked Clinton where the blood came from. Clinton stated the blood was from his Stepdad/Victim [VICTIM ]. I asked Clinton to tell me what happened. Clinton went on about how [VICTIM ] wanted the keys to a Dodge Journey which was parked in front of the residence. Clinton stated he didn’t want to give [VICTIM ] the keys because Clinton’s tools were in it and [VICTIM ] is a thief.
Clinton went on to state he gave his Mom/Witness [WITNESS ] the key to the ignition of the Journey but refused to give her the key to the door because he thought [VICTIM ] was too drunk to work on the Journey. Clinton stated that (stepdad) became upset and walked towards him. Clinton stated he felt threatened so he back handed [VICTIM ] in the face. Clinton stated [VICTIM ] then fell to the floor and they left a short time later to go to the hospital.
I called and spoke with [WITNESS ]. [WITNESS ] stated she was nervous and didn’t want to say much but she advised that, She asked Clinton for the keys to the Journey so [VICTIM ] could attempt to fix it. Clinton refused because he didn’t want his tools messed with. [WITNESS ] stated about an hour later Clinton got his tools out of the vehicle and brought them inside. [WITNESS ] stated next thing she knew Clinton began hitting box fans and other things on the counter with a bat. [WITNESS ] stated he then began hitting(stepdad) in the back with the bat. [WITNESS ] advised she then heard her Daughter/Witness [WITNESS ] say “he’s bleeding”. So they all left Clinton at and took [VICTIM ] to the hospital.
I spoke with [WITNESS ]. [WITNESS ] stated the only thing she saw was Clinton hitting the fans and things on the counter with the bat.
I then spoke with Clinton again and asked him where the bat was. Clinton advised it was locked in his bedroom in the closet, and then advised “I didnt do anything with it but hit the porch because I was mad”. Clinton then led me into his room where he unlocked the closet and gave me the bat.
Sgt. Cornell responded to Tanner Carrollton, and spoke with [VICTIM ]. After talking with Sgt. Cornell, Clinton was then placed in handcuffs, transported to the Jail and charged with Agg. Assault FVA.
The multi-colored bat was placed into evidence locker number 4. Pictures were taken and will be attached. Inv. Dodson was notified of the incident.
