On 10/28/2024
, Deputy Moss was dispatched to 112 Banks Rd (Med Link) in reference to a suspicious call. Corporal Barber, Deputy Langston and Deputy Moss arrived on scene.
V1 was stopped at the entrance to Med Link. No one was in or around the vehicle. Flock was checked and vehicle was located at 01:02 a.m. going south on GA-15 at Pizza Hut.
Vehicle exited the roadway to the right approximately 300 feet south of Banks Road. Vehicle made with a highway traffic sign post and continued on through the grass coming to a final rest at the entrance of Med Link. The approximate value of the traffic sign was $500 dollars, per Department of Transportation. Next list (Curt’s Towing) was called for the vehicle. Vehicle was turned over to Curt’s Towing.
Checking with RaceTrac and watching cameras in RaceTrac, Deputy Moss witnessed offender (Quincy Strickland) exit the driver side of the vehicle. After speaking with owner of the vehicle [REDACTED BY AGENCY], he stated that he had let Quincy Strickland borrow the vehicle due to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] not having license and Quincy would give [REDACTED BY AGENCY] a ride when he needed it. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] also stated that Quincy Strickland text and called [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to let him know that Quincy had wrecked the vehicle. Quincy told [REDACTED BY AGENCY] that he had busted the window on the vehicle.
Corporal Barber and Deputy Moss went to [1300 BLOCK] Wilson Bridge Road to speak with Quincy Strickland. After speaking with driver (Quincy Strickland), he stated that he had went to RaceTrac after getting off work. Quincy then stated that he was driving back and the lights went out on the vehicle and he exited the roadway. He then stated that he waited around the vehicle and then walked back to his residence at [1300 BLOCK] Wilson Bridge Rd. He then stated that he ed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to let him know that he wrecked the vehicle.
Corporal Barber placed handcuffs on Quincy Strickland and placed him in the back of his patrol vehicle. Corporal Barber transported Quincy Strickland to 160 Windmill Farm Road (Banks County Jail), and turned Quincy Strickland over to jail staff without incident.
Warrant for failure to report accident with damage taken for offender.
